Generosity of Prophet(PBUH) in Ramadan

Generosity of Prophet(PBUH) in Ramadan/Ramzan

Generosity, benevolence, nobility and elite bountifulness each have a deeper meaning than at first glance and may be divided into many branches. For example, scholars say that benevolence is to gladly spend upon important and useful matters.Nobility is spending freely thereby avoiding acquisition which is not a quality worthy of praise, spending freely is the opposite of miserliness. Bountifulness is to gladly release the repayment of a debt and is the opposite of ill-nature.

Each of these noble qualities were apparent in the Prophet (peace and blessing be upon him) and there has never been, nor will be, anyone of equal characteristics. No one who ever met him described him as being otherwise. Jabir Abdullah’s son tells us that when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessing be upon him) was asked for anything he never refused.When it came to giving gifts, Hazrat Anas(Radiyallahu Anhu)’s son tells us that the Prophet (peace and blessing be upon him) was the most generous.He was even more generous during Ramadan. When Gabriel(peace be upon him) came to him, he was more generous than even the wind which is sent.

Hazrat Ibn ‘Abbas(Radiyallahu Anhu) related saying, “The Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, was the most generous of people with good things, and he was even more

generous during Ramadan when Jibril met him. Jibril, peace be upon him, used to meet him every night in Ramadan until it was over and the Prophet(Peace be upon him) would go through the

Qur’an with him. The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, was  MORE GENEROUS WITH GOOD THINGS THAN BLOWING WIND{SAHIH BUKHARI,BOOK

OF FASTING, HADITH #1803}

Generosity and giving are attributes that Allah likes for Muslims to have for Allah is the most-Generous and Giving of all. Indeed, Allah’s Generosity multiplies in Ramadan.

 Similarly, the Prophet’s generosity increased in Ramadan, and he is the Perfect Man whose personality encompasses all attributes humankind seeks and vies for.

Ramadan is the month of the Book of Allah and of generosity to the poor, to whom zakat is traditionally conveyed in that month. Every good deed in Ramadan carries more

weight that at any other time, particularly giving.

When Hazrat Anas(Radiyallahu Anhu) asked “What is the best charity for the sake of Allah (sadaqa)?”

The Prophet (peace be upon him) replied: “A gift in Ramadan (sadaqatun fi ramadan).” [Sunan Tirmidhi]

Virtues of Spending on family

Sayyiduna Damurah(Radiyallahu Anhu) narrated that Prophet(peace be upon him) said,  ” Spend more(money,etc.) on your family in Ramadan because spending in

 Ramadan is like spending in the path of Allah.{ Al Jami-us-Saghir,pp 162,Hadith #2716}

Virtues of feeding people in Iftar

Sayyiduna Salman Farsi (Radi Allahu Anhu) narrates that on the last day of Sha’ban, the Prophet of Allah (SallAllahu Alayhi wa Sallam) said,

‘O people! An auspicious and blessed month has approached you. In this month, there is a night that is better than a thousand months. Allah has made it Farḍ to fast in this sacred month.

 To offer (Tarawīh Salah) in its nights is Sunnaĥ. If you do a good deed in this month, it will be equivalent to carrying out a Fard act in any other month and if you perform a Fard

 act in this month, it will be equivalent to carrying out 70 Fard acts in any other month. This is the month of patience whose reward is Heaven. This is the month of sympathy and,

in this month, the believer’s sustenance is increased.

In this month, the one who serves a fasting person with something to do Iftar, will be forgiven for his sins and his neck will be freed from the fire of Hell and he will be rewarded

the same as the one who fasted, without any reduction in the reward of the fasting person.’

The companions asked humbly, ‘Ya Rasulullah (SallAllahu Alayhi waSallam)! Not all of us possess enough money to (present a meal to the fasting person) for Iftar.’

He (SallAllahu Alayhi waSallam) replied‘Allah (Azzawajal) will give this reward to the one who offers a sip of milk, a date or a sip of water to the fasting person and the

one who serves the fasting person with a meal so that his stomach is full will be given water from my pond (Kawthar) such that he will never feel thirsty and will enter Heaven……………
